Speaking to Ravi Chandran Ashwin on his Youtube Channel, Yuzvendra Chahal was asked about the money he wants from RCB to buy him at the mega-auction. The leg-spinner shied away for a moment and stated that he will be happy with 8 crore.
“I don’t want to say 15 Cr to 17 Cr. 8 Cr is enough for me” Chahal replied while smiling. Yuzvendra was with Royal Challenger Bangalore for 8 years. He started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2011 before signing with RCB in 2014.
RCB retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammad Siraj as 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice respectively on 30th November. The leg-spinner was expected to be amongst the retention choices but RCB did not went for Chahal. RCB also did not went for Harshal Patel who was the purple cap holder of the last season.
The mega-auction is slated to be conducted on 12th and 13th February in Bengaluru and every team wants to get back most of their core squad. RCB did extremely well in the 2021 edition of IPL as they finished on the 3rd position with 9 wins and 5 losses.
With the addition of two new franchises, the war-bidding will be more intense this time.
