The seventh edition of PSL is set to start from tomorrow at the National Stadium in Karachi. Talking about the lack of marketing, Kamran Akmal spoke to the Pak News channel, that Ramiz Raja vision is being applied to only hotels and not on the outside.
“Ramiz Raja was serious while talking about making fans comfortable and we all saw that in the press conferences as well. But I think the marketing department applied his vision to hotel only and did nothing outside on the roads,” Akmal spoke to Samaa TV.
The PCB chairman insisted on bringing drop in pitches in Pakistan for a whooping 37 PK crores so that players could get acclimatized for the overseas tour of Australia, NewZealand and South Africa. The move was however heavily criticized by some of the former Pak players.
“Maybe they are only thinking about drop-in pitches and not focusing too much on marketing of PSL,” he added.” said Kamran Akmal.
Peshawar Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz echoed similar sentiments and raised concern about the lack of marketing for an event like PSL. “I didn’t notice many things when I was coming to the stadium from the airport. Marketing is one of the basic points when it comes to encouraging people to come to the stadiums,” said Riaz.
The league will be broadcasted live on the Sony Network and also on the Sony Liv App. This time, ICC.tv website will also broadcast the league for the international audiences.
