Bookmyshow grabs rights for ‘Shane’ documentary in India

Legendary spinner Warne’s documentary, which has released on the 6th of January in theaters in Australia, will now also be shown in India. BookMyShow has grabbed the rights to stream the documentary from the 15th of January. “I’m super excited to be releasing my documentary ‘Shane’ which will be exclusively available on BookMyShow Stream,” Warne said in a statement.”

Earlier there were reports that the documentary is likely to be streamed by Amazon Prime Video from the 25th of January. The spin legend has touched on many topics of his life including his divorce from Simone Callahan and the bribe offer of $200000 from then the Pakistani captain Salim Malik to lose the match against the home side in 1994.

The documentary will provide a glimpse of Warne over the years. The former leg-spinner announced in May 2020 that the documentary will be made by Amazon and that the Amazon crew would follow him for twelve months in Australia, India, Vegas, and the UK. After his high-profile cricket career, Warne played for the T20 franchise Rajasthan Royals and led them to victory in the inaugural edition. Warne has been involved with commentary and analyst roles after his retirement from the T20 franchise cricket and now works for Fox Sports and SkySports.
