India thrashed the Sri Lankan side to secure a record 15th consecutive series win at home. The likes of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant showed impressive performances in the test series. Captain Rohit Sharma showered praises on the men who performed well in the series.
Pant has been a game-changer for Team India for the last few years. However, the batsman has thrown his wicket many times in the beginning of his career. But with the passage of time, Pant has not only increased his patience for the situation of the match but has also improved his wicket-keeping.
“We know how he bats. As a team, we just want to give him the freedom to bat in the way that he wants to bat, but also keep in mind certain situations of the game. We have conveyed that to him but we want him to stick with his game plan as a team. I think what comes with Pant” Rohit Sharma said in the press conference
Pant was awarded the man of the series for his 185 runs, 5 catches, and three sharp stumpings. Pant played 96, 39, and 50 in the three innings that he batted.
With a dominating victory over Sri Lanka, India has moved to the fourth spot in the World Test championship points table. The team has played the most 12 matches till now.
