Being in the limelight for his express pace, Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf spoke highly of the Indian batsmen who encouraged him to make a mark on the international scene very soon. Rauf revealed that he had been a net bowler for Team India in Sydney in 2019.

Speaking to Paktv.tv, Rauf said “When I met the Indian team in the world cup, they all greeted me and reminded me how well I bowled to them in the nets earlier in Sydney. I always try to learn from the International players, be it from the Indian or Pakistan team.”

Rauf picked up a hattrick in the BBL in 2020 when Matthew Gilkes, Callum Ferguson, and Daniel Sams of Sydney Thunders were at the receiving end. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, Rauf conceded only 25 runs and picked up a crucial wicket of Hardik Pandya. Pakistan chased down 151 runs and defeated India for the first time in World Cup events.

Haris has been recently signed by the Yorkshire County Club for the 2022 season. Rauf plays for Lahore Qalandars who have recently appointed Shaheen Shah Afridi as the new captain. The PSL is scheduled to start on the 27th of January.
