Indian players apart from Rohit & Virat cannot handle pressure in Ind Pak matches: Mohammad Hafeez

Critics agree that India vs Pakistan is probably the fiercest rivalry in International cricket. The player who leaves their mark in those matches are remembered forever. Whether it’s Javed Miandad’s last-ball six of Chetan Sharma, Sachin’s blistering 98 at Centurion, or the spell of Mohammad Amir in the 2017 Champions Trophy final, players who have produced a remarkable performance in those particular matches get a lot of fame and limelight and India Pakistan matches tests the player beyond their usual levels.

Speaking to Sports Tak on the sidelines of the Legend League Cricket in Muscat, Mohammad Hafeez said that the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are able to absorb a lot of pressure, however, he couldn’t take the name of another Indian player who is able to handle the pressure like the veteran duo of India.

“If I look at India critically, then the likes of Kohli and Sharma have the skills to score par runs. I am not saying that other Indian players aren’t good but if these two get out cheaply, then it becomes difficult for other Indian players to handle the pressure.” Hafeez told Sports Today.

Virat Kohli should be proud of what he achieved in his captaincy tenure: Mohammad Hafeez

Talking about the sudden resignation of Kohli from the Test captaincy, Hafeez said that Virat has done exceptionally well in his captaincy period and that the former Indian captain can walk with his head held high.

“Personally whoever comes after Virat, I hope he does well for Team India” added Hafeez.
