There won’t be any cricketer in the world who is not surprised by the recent resignation of Virat Kohli. Even the South African fans had less hope from the inexperienced SA side against the well-performing Indian team but they came out on top by 2- 1.

Australian fast bowler, Brett Lee spoke to ANI and did not elaborate too much on Kohli’s resignation. He only said, “It is totally Virat’s call……. I cannot say much about it” There have been speculations in the cricketing fraternity that the decision to retire wasn’t of Kohli alone and that he may have pre-empted about his removal from the Test Captaincy and therefore stepped down himself.

Lee was present in Oman to participate in the Legends League and spoke on India’s shocking defeat in the test against SA. “Look, it happens sometimes. They have been playing some pretty good cricket. The way they played in Australia, beating them on home soil, and then in England…”

The Indian and England test teams share a unique fact. While India was able to defeat Australia in Australia (twice) and England managed to defeat South Africa in South Africa in 2019 – 2020, England lost to Australia in the recent Ashes and India lost to South Africa by 2-1.
