There is no doubt that Mumbai Indians are one of the finest teams in the IPL. With 5 title wins, they are even ahead of the Chennai Super Kings who have 4 title wins. Now Jofra Archer who was bought by the Mumbai Indians this year has revealed why Mumbai Indians is one of the best teams.
“MI looks very close-knit and family-oriented and such teams always do well. That’s why it is no surprise that we have won five titles,” Archer spoke to the MI’s official social media team.
MI has overseen a lot of veteran players over the years such as the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Lasith Malinga, Zaheer Khan. Kieron Pollard and Rohit Sharma have been with the Mumbai Indians ever since the inception of IPL.
Jofra Archer previously played for Rajasthan Royals from 2018 to 2021. He played 35 matches and picked up 46 wickets at an average of 21.32. The bowler believes that performing in a different environment is a good way to rate yourself.
“The change of environment is good because you then get to challenge yourself. It is all right to perform in your comfort zone but when you actually go away and start performing in a different team, in a different setting, only then can you probably start rating yourself”
It is worth noting that Archer is not going to be a part of IPL 2022 due to recovering from his elbowr injury for which he has undergone two operations. He was bagged by Mumbai Indians for a contract of INR 8 crore (USD1.04 million) at the IPL mega auction.
