Labuschange names best Indian bowler and it’s no surprise

Marnus Labuschagne is currently the world no.1 test batsman. During a QnA session on Twitter, Labuschange was asked about the best Indian batter and bowler, and the batsman replied Virat Kohli and R.Ashwin. Ashwin was one of the important factors of India defeating Australia in Australia in 2020 – 2021. India were a depleted side and the likes of Ashwin and Vihari survived the Sydney test despite the respective problems of lower back and hamstring before winning the Gabba test match and series.

R.Ashwin has enjoyed a remarkable run from 2021. The bowler has not only contributed with the bowl but with the bat too. He was the chief architect along with Axar Patel of rattling the English batsman in the home series when India won the series by 3-1. Although he did not get a chance on the England tour, his performances in the test side gave him a recall in the shorter formats as well.

Other than Aswin, Labuschange named Jofra Archer as the best international bowler he faced after Pat Cummins. India is currently 1 – 1 in the test series against South Africa, which is their final frontier. Australia on the other hand has already taken an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the Ashes. The fourth test match was drawn by the spirited performance of the English batsmen.

Labuschange has scored 2171 runs till now in tests at an average of 58.68 which includes 6 hundred and 12 fifties. It can be considered a dream come true for Labuschange who was handling the spot camera ten years ago, for which he got paid $90 per day. The batsman made his Ashes debut in 2019 and has been prolific since. Besides batting, Labuschange can also bowl decent leg spin-bowling.
