Kohli announced a shocker of a decision of relinquishing the Test captaincy. The decision came as a surprise for every cricketing fan. From current to former players, everyone paid their tribute to Virat under whom India has achieved staggering success in the test format.

Speaking to Paktv.tv, Mohammad Amir heaped praises on Virat’s captaincy and said that the former captain has achieved a lot for Indian and world cricket. Considering the captaincy debacle that has happened between Kohli and BCCI, it appeared that everything got settled and that the Indian test team will start a new journey under Kohli.

“Virat Kohli is not an achiever anymore. He has achieved plenty of things for himself and for Indian cricket. So he has his own mindset. What he considered as good (stepping down from test captaincy), he did it. Best wishes to Kohli for his future” Amir said

Amir and Kohli had a number of outings against each other. The fast bowler played a crucial part in Pakistan’s Champion Trophy win in 2017 against India where Kohli dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for cheap runs.

The BCCI has now the headache of whom to appoint the test skipper. There is the likelihood that Rohit Sharma will be handed over the test captaincy also.
