Kuldeep Yadav is making a comeback after a long time. The wrist-spinner had a terrific start to his international career and he was also a part of the playing eleven in 2019 50 over World Cup.
However, after some sub-par performances, he was dropped from both ODI and tests, and the knee injury he suffered last year in the IPL training sessions only delayed his comeback. He has got the chance now as the chairman committee has selected him for the West Indies ODI series.
Speaking to PTI, Harbhajan said that India needs to back Kuldeep Yadav as he can be a deadly bowler if he picks up early wickets. “My only suggestion would be that stick with him since you have shown conviction based on his past performances and give him enough time and confidence. He is a man who can deliver the goods for India,” Harbhajan said.
After his 5 wickets at Sydney in 2019, Shastri went on to say that Kuldeep Yadav could be the best overseas spinner of India. The wrist-spinner however did not get a single test to play in the next two years.
India will now host West Indies from the 6th of February.
