Saha-journalist issue, Venkatesh Prasad advises players to maintain clear boundaries with journalists

After Wriddhiman Saha revealed messages from a journalist who apparently threatened him of the repercussions for not giving him an exclusive interview, many former players have come in support of the cricketer. While Saha has not revealed the identity of the journalist, netizens have already speculated that and some of the prominent journalists seems to agree on it.

Now former fast bowler, Venkatesh Prasad has come down hard on the players who give interviews to such journalists who feel entitled later on for interviews and bully lesser-known individuals.

The BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal has already stated that they are taking all the actions to find out the culprit and to take a stern action. The controversy also comes at a time when Saha revealed about being told to ‘retire’ indirectly by the head coach Rahul Dravid. He also revealed that the head of selection committee told him telephonically that he will not be considered from now as the think tank is looking to give chance to the younger players.

Saha who has played 40 test matches for India with 104 dismissals has also opted out of the Ranji Trophy this year in order to spend time with family and his wife who is recovering from dengue.
