If reports are to be true then Shahid Afridi is unlikely to participate in the 7th edition of PSL as he has asked the Quetta Gladiators management to release him from the bio-bubble. The reasons are personal in nature. According to a leading website, Afridi is suffering from lower back pain and his sister-in-law has also passed away.

The sources revealed that his children are alone at the home and seeing what has happened in his personal life, he wants to pull out from the bio-bubble. Almost every league in the world now has to include a bio-secure bubble where players, staff members, and other officials are not allowed to go outside the restricted area.

Afridi has already announced that the seventh edition of PSL will be his last. Afridi was traded to Quetta Gladiators for the 2022 edition. Afridi has taken 44 wickets so far in his PSL career. The star batsman earlier played for Peshawar Zalmi as captain and then joined Karachi King. He then was a part of Multan Sultan. PSL 2022 will start from the 27th of January in Karachi in the National stadium. The tournament will also be broadcasted live on icc.com
