Shoaib Akhtar takes a dig at PCB for “exciting” Karachi test match

There is no doubt that cricket fans around the world were waiting for the Pakistan-Australia series. The two test matches that have been played so far have been mediocre, to say the least, that have attracted criticism from not only fans on social media but from the former Pakistani and Australian cricketers. Now Shoaib Akhtar has taken a hilarious dig at PCB for conducting an “exciting” test match at Karachi.

The Rawalpindi express tweeted “exciting scenes from #PAKVSAUS today” when Australia was batting in their first innings. It would not be wrong to say that the fans were bored to death as the Karachi pitch behaved like the Rawalpindi surface and had nothing for the fast bowlers as well as spinners.

Pakistan is also aware that the match referee could hand them another demerit point as he did in the Rawalpindi test match. There are reports that Ramiz and co. have called an Australian curator to prepare a pitch for the Lahore test match.

Even during the Rawalpindi test match, Akhtar tweeted “Either declares & let Australia bat for a bit or play some T20 and entertain the crowd & one of you go for a double hundred. Pindi crowd deserves some fun.”

Akhtar is known for speaking his heart out and has torn apart the Pakistan Cricket Board many times in the past on various issues. It is also worth noting that apart from Ramiz Raja, PCB was looking to hire the services of Shoaib Akhtar however rumors were there that the Rawalpindi express wanted the chairman post.

At the time of writing this post, Pakistan requires nearly 250 runs in the last two sessions whereas Australia require 7 wickets for victory.
