Silverwood fate to be decided this week – Sources

It is ironic that the fate of coaches of two prominent teams of the world is going to be decided almost at the same time. While Langer is relentless to keep his job even after carrying the team to maiden T20 World cup and Ashes victory, Chris Silverwood would be heavily weighed for England’s fiasco in the recent Ashes.

According to a report in the mirror, Silverwood would be aware of his fate by Tuesday of this week. Ashely Giles and Silverwood were asked to create a series of reports for England’s poor performance in the test series. The report from the Mirror states that its not looking good for Silverwood and even for assistant coach Graham Thorpe.

The England team were heavily criticized for leaving out their veteran duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson on the green top wicket of Gabba. There appeared many mistakes from the England think tank, and Silverwood is likely to bear the brunt of them.

Graham Thorpe appeared to have been going fine until a last minute dreaded mistake brought him into the limelight of ECB. After the final test match at Hobart, Root, Lyon and few other players were involved in beer drinking. Police were called after a complaint from the public and they could be seen telling the cricketer “Too Loud. You have obviously been asked to pack up, so we’ve been asked to come. Time for bed. Thank you”

While the ECB released an apology for the matter, they were reportedly furious about the footage being shot by Graham Thorpe which landed on the Sydney Morning Herald website. The video apparently had Thorpe’s commentary too “‘We’ve got Nathan Lyon, Joe Root, Alex Carey, Jimmy Anderson… Just video this, just for the lawyers… say good morning, everyone.'”

England are gearing up for their Windies tour where they will take part in the 3 test match series and therefore are in a hurry to pick up their next coach.
