This IPL player got exactly what he wanted from KKR

It is said that wishes do come true for the people who are deserving and it looks like an Indian player who recently was bought by Kolkatta Knight riders has gotten exactly what he wanted from his previous franchise.

We are talking about Shreyas Iyer. The batsman was leading the Delhi Capitals side last year when an injury forced him out of the second leg of the IPL. Rishabh Pant was then handed the captaincy and the side remained on top of the points table before the playoffs.

During the Contention announcement on 30th November, Delhi Capitals went in with Rishabh Pant (16cr), Prithvi Shaw (12cr), Axar Patel (8cr), and Anrich Nortje (6cr). There were speculations that Shreyas Iyer wanted the captaincy and therefore, decided the enter into the auctions when it was made clear to him about DC’s plan to move along with Pant as the leader.

During the latest IPL auction, Shreyas Iyer was brought by the KKR management and they have announced recently that the right-hander will be leading their side for the 2022 season. Iyer was brought for a whopping INR 12.25 Cr. Delhi did attempt to get back him back but bowed out of the race after a final bid of INR 9.5 crore.

Iyer has been touted as the future captain of India by many former cricketers. The player has been a near-permanent member across all three formats for Team India.
