While the wicket-keeper batsman has denied to reveal the name of the journalist, Virender Sehwag has urged the cricketer to reveal the name. Saha made his intentions clear of not revealing the name of the journalist as doing so could dent the career of that journalist who threatened him of the repercussions and that the intention was to highlight such issue so that other players do not receive the same treatment from journalist that he got.

Speculations are rife on Twitter about the journalist who sent such messages and many prominent cricketers have come up in support of Wriddhiman Saha. The player however clarified that he will not hold back if he receives the same kind of treatment from the journalist again.

What’s the BCCI take on the matter?

The BCCI has specified that any action on the issue would be done if there would be a written complaint from the cricketer. Saha has said that he has not received any communication from the BCCI and has made it clear that he will not reveal the name of the journalist to the BCCI even upon being asked for it.

While the BCCI may do its own internal investigation and may even get to know the name of that journalist, they may not take a stringent action of barring the journalist from BCCI events or banning him from interviewing the contracted players.
